We’re looking to the stars for this epic battle between two of the best hunters in all of moviedom. That’s right, in this edition of Versus Mode!, we’re pitting two great science fiction icons against each other for a battle to see who is top dog when it comes to tracking down prey.

In the red corner, we’ve got Boba Fett (Jeremy Bulloch), the most renowned bounty hunter in the Star Wars galaxy (let’s face it; Greedo was a punk), a total badass that hunted down one of the greatest heroes in the universe and turned him over to the Dark Lord himself (no, not Voldemort). Needless to say, any man squaring off against this intergalactic tough guy is going to have his hands full. Too bad Boba Fett’s opponent today isn’t a man.

In the blue corner, we’ve got the most fearsome hunter the silver screen has ever known (and we’re talking horror movie-quality scary guy here). He’s a primeval force from a planet made up beings whose sole purpose is the quest for bragging rights when it comes “bagging the big one.” Not only is this one of the most fearsome creatures ever to visit the planet Earth, but he’s got friends who are just as terrifying, and they’re always eager to pick up where he left off. There are a lot of scary aliens out there, but the Predators have probably bagged and tagged all of them.

Both of these hunters come from galaxies far, far away and have access to futuristic weapons and technology. They’re the best of the best when it comes to hunting down prey and never show fear in the face of danger. Beyond that, though, these are two totally different animals. Boba Fett is actually a clone of one of the greatest warriors in the Star Wars universe and started hunting bounties at young age in order to follow in his “father’s” footsteps. The Predators (also known as Yautja) are a species that hunt out of pure love for the sport and a strange sense of honor. They travel from planet to planet hunting the biggest and baddest thing they can find. For our purposes in comparing the two, we’re sticking to the stuff we’ve seen in the movies, which means books, comics and so on are not in the running as cannon for this smackdown.

1. Prey

Well, we kinda spoiled this one when we mentioned that Boba Fett was responsible for capturing one of the greatest heroes in the universe (if you haven’t guessed, it’s Han Solo). He tracked one of the most infamous smugglers down and managed to take him, despite the fact that his prey now had a small army on his side (and a Jedi).

However, the Predators have taken down the likes of Danny Trejo, Jessie “The Body” Venture, Gary Busey and even some of the most-feared creatures in cinema, the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise (as if Busey wasn’t scary enough). These guys go around the galaxy purposely seeking out the best of the best where ever they land. They’ve taken on cops, soldiers and criminals, and each time they’ve torn through them like they were tissue paper.

2. Confirmed Kills

I would let you live, but I’m so close to earning my gratuitous murder merit badge.

While Boba Fett has a rep for being a total BAMF, dead bodies aren’t worth as much as the live ones when it comes to bounties. That means he’s not the type to shoot a perfectly good captive in the head. Instead, he likes to turn them into decorative figures and hand them over to his employer.Predators, though, are the death dealers of the galaxy. If it moves, they kill it. If it doesn’t, they still try to kill it. Their only purpose is to hunt, and they are very good at what they do. So good, in fact, that their win/loss ratio is nothing to scoff at. We wouldn’t be surprised if they learned how to kill their first small animal before they walked.
